Billing

What you are charged, when, and how to stop.

The commercial side in one page: the moment money moves, how renewal works, how to cancel, and what we do when a purchase turns out to be the wrong one. The binding version is the terms of service; this page says the same thing in fewer words.

Buying

Plans are sold monthly or yearly, and the pricing page shows both: a year costs ten months, so two months ride free. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT, which is added at checkout according to your billing address.

Community Edition costs nothing and always will. It needs a key like every other edition, and that key is free: create an account, take it, activate. No card is asked for.

Paid plans have no trial period. A subscription begins when the purchase completes and the licence key is issued, and it runs for the term you chose — a month or a year. Community Edition is how the product is evaluated: it carries every security feature and does not expire.

Renewal

A subscription renews automatically at the end of its term, at the same price — or at the new total once capacity has been added to the licence — unless you cancel first. The invoice follows the charge, and the renewal date is shown on the account's Billing page.

Every purchase of a plan is a licence of its own, with its own key, term and renewal date — a second purchase of a plan you already hold included. Additional clusters, nodes per cluster, compliance frameworks or image volume are added to a paid licence bought through checkout, from that licence's page, and the key stays the same; licences issued on invoice are extended through support@attestkeep.com. The addition is charged at once at the full price of the licence's own term, a month or a year, not for the part of the term that is left; the renewal date does not change, and every renewal after it charges the new total. Clusters that check in online pick the new limits up at their next daily check; a cluster activated offline needs a new certificate. A key you no longer need is cancelled from the Billing page. Evidence packages you have already generated stay available. Community Edition is the one exception: an account holds a single Community key, and add-ons bought on it replace that key rather than adding a second one.

Cancelling

Cancel from the licence page in your account. It takes two clicks, needs no e-mail to anyone, and no one will call you to ask why.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut the term you already paid for short: the licence runs to the end of the period, and the installation keeps every feature until that date. When the date passes it falls back to Community Edition and carries on under the free limits. Scanning, admission and evidence do not stop, and nothing you have already recorded is taken away.

Refunds

A licence key is digital content delivered immediately, which under consumer law ends the statutory right of withdrawal at the moment the key is issued. That is the default legal position, and it is why the free edition exists: you can evaluate the whole product, in your own cluster, without paying anything.

We do not use that clause as a shield. Within 14 days of a charge you can ask for a full refund, for any reason. Write to support@attestkeep.com with the invoice number; you will get a person, not a form. The licence that charge paid for is withdrawn when the refund is made, and the installation falls back to Community Edition.

A charge for capacity added to a licence falls under the same 14 days. Refunding it takes that capacity back: the licence's limits drop by what the addition raised them, the key stays the same, and renewals return to the earlier total.

After 14 days a charge is refunded where the purchase does not work because of a defect on our side, or you were charged for something you did not order.

Where a refund is due, we initiate it and Polar returns the money to the card that paid. It takes as long as your bank takes.

Who takes the money

Payments are taken by Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record, which resells the licence to you. Polar is the seller on the invoice; the tax due at your billing address is calculated and charged at Polar's checkout; the card is entered there and stored there for renewals. We never see or store a card number. The licence and the support are ours.

Invoices and receipts come from Polar, by e-mail and in Polar's billing portal, which the account's Billing page links to. Billing questions of every kind still come to us first; where the answer is Polar's to give, we take it there rather than sending you round.
